Three little Cub Scouts who were the best of friends took their bikes out to play one afternoon in 1993 and were never seen again. Eventually, their bodies were found tied up and naked with bizarre markings in a ditch. The suspicious nature of their death led to life-long sentences of three teens who were allegedly involved in satanic rituals. This four-part miniseries covers the highly controversial West Memphis Three case that rallied celebrities, musicians, and documentarians to fight for criminal justice. • 4) Episode 202: The Tragic Story of Cinnamon Brown

This twisting, turning story of a man who left a trail of damaged girls in his wake is truly heartbreaking. Cinnamon was the daughter of David Brown, who convinced Cinnamon to kill his wife — her stepmother — Linda, when she was only 14. Cinnamon went through with it, murdering Linda and going to jail for the crime. Creepily enough, this allowed David to go through with his plan to marry Linda’s younger sister. Ashleigh and Alaina do a great job of telling this convoluted story in an engaging, chronological way. And the story does have a relatively uplifting ending you’ll want to stick around for!

  • 5) Episode 200: The Weepy Voiced Killer

If you haven’t heard of the case of the Weepy Voiced Killer, you’re really missing out on one of the creepiest, strangest serial killer stories ever. As the hosts point out at the beginning of the episode, there isn’t really a ton of info out there about this murderer, which is part of what makes this episode so interesting. So why was he called the Weepy Voiced Killer? Well, after he would kill someone, he would call the police and cry to them about it in a very creepy, very weepy voice. Was he actually remorseful? Or just taunting the police? Ashleigh and Alaina discuss his motivations and play the actual recordings, which you need to hear. This is one of the best Morbid episodes that will really stick with you (if that weepy voice doesn’t haunt you I don’t know what will!).

  • In a true crime collaboration that will go down in history, Ashleigh and Alaina are joined by the legendary Em Schulz of the And That’s Why We Drink Podcast. Em brings the paranormal to Morbid in this campfire-style ghost story episode. Hearing these three share laughs and spooky tales is a lot of fun, and a light-hearted antidote to a lot of the more disturbing Morbid episodes, but the ghost stories are still genuinely eerie! If you’re looking for the funniest episodes of Morbid, definitely give this one a listen.

  • 7) Episode 93: The LuLuLemon Murder Part 1

LuLuLemon should only be a site for buying yoga mats and buttery smooth leggings, but what if we told you that there was once a murder in one of their iconic stores? That’s right, in March 2011 at a LuLuLemon in Bethesda, Maryland, the store manager arrived to open for the day only to find that the door was unlocked and the whole place was trashed. In the back of the store, she found bloody footprints and heard a small groan — scared, she ran out of the store and got help from a man at the Apple Store next door. What he found in the back of the LuLuLemon was chilling (we’re talking six-foot blood splatters), but everything was not what it seemed. While many true crime podcasts have covered this case, Ashleigh and Alaina do an exceptional job of highlighting the victim in this case, bringing a lot of humanity to this best Morbid episode.

  • 8) Episode 85: Dennis Rader "BTK" Part 1 So Much and Not Enough

This three-parter on the infamous serial killer BTK is a fan-favorite for a reason. If you’re into true crime — or even if you aren’t — you’ve probably heard of Dennis Rader, who gave himself the name BTK, an abbreviation for “blind, torture, kill”, but you likely don’t know the story in this much detail. While there are so many awful killers out there, Rader still stands out, having murdered 10 people in Wichita, Kansas over an almost 20-year period, and taunting the media and police. It’s an incredibly disturbing story, but there’s something so cathartic about hearing Alaina and Ash call him a “stupid turd” and not giving him the respect he so clearly desires. This serial killer Morbid episode exemplifies what makes Morbid such a great true crime podcast.

  • 9) Episode 151: The Mysterious Death of Tamla Horsford

You may have heard of Tamla Horsford, a 40-year-old mother of five whose tragic death initially made headlines in 2018 and was brought back to public attention again in 2020 following the murder of George Floyd. Tamla, the only Black attendee of an adult sleepover birthday party with other “football moms” in Forsyth County, Georgia, was found dead in the backyard the next morning. No one had a bad word to say about Tamla, who seemed to genuinely light up any room she was in. The attendees of the party’s stories of what happened are strange and just don’t seem to add up — so what actually happened that night? Ash and Alaina cover all the aspects of this case and its bungled investigation in this almost two hour long episode that is definitely a must-listen.

  • 10) Episode 156: The Irish Vanishing Triangle Part 1

While the “Vanishing Triangle” might sound like a paranormal phenomena similar to the Bermuda Triangle, this is actually a deeply sad and terrifying story of a series of eight disappearances of young women between 1993 and 1998 in an 80-mile area outside of Dublin, Ireland. These disappearances are considered murders, however no bodies or evidence have ever been found. How did all of these young women vanish without a trace? The Morbid hosts discuss the disappearances in this two-part episode, and get into the theories and suspects, including a serial killer who was active in the area at the time. This is a haunting best Morbid episode that will stay with you long after you finish listening.
