EcoAir DD122FW-MK5 Classic

EcoAir Dehumidifier Reviews - Is this the Best Brand for Dehumidifiers? (4)

The DD122FW-MK5 - or just the DD1 MK5 for short - is one of the most popular EcoAir desiccant dehumidifiers. It's a quiet model with aclassic design and range of useful features.

As you would expect from a desiccant dehumidifier, it's fantastic at removing water from the air in cooler temperatures. If you have an interior or garage that's often below room temperature, it can quickly reduce humidity.

It's also very lightweight. Weighing just 6kg, it's easy to move this between rooms. In comparison, some of the heaviest models we've reviewedweigh more than double. A downside to this lightweight design is that it has a relatively small two litre tank. Be prepared to empty it regularly if you have a damp house.

One of the only downsides to the DD1 is that it's not the most energy efficient model on the market. The DD1 also has a relatively low capacity of 7 litres per day, so it's not suitable for large households.

It does, however, include an automatic mode that switches off the machine when the ambient humidity and temperature are at acceptable levels. This is a great time saver and can also reduce your energy bills.

Other features include an "overdry" protection mechanism, to stop the air getting too dry, and a spot function if you want to dry a specific area. It's also very quiet at just 34dB.

The EcoAir DD122FW-MK5 is an excellent dehumidifier. It's quick to remove water from air, especially in cooler conditions, and has a lightweight design. While we would have liked a larger water tank, it's a great option for cooler homes, conservatories and garages.

Pros

  • Excellent water removal at room temperature and below
  • Automatic mode
  • Quiet
  • Spot function for drying specific areas

Cons

  • Only a 2 litre water tank
  • Not the most energy efficient

Specification

  • Type: Desiccant
  • Noise: 34dB
  • Tank: 2 litres
  • Power:580W
  • Max Extraction: 7litres/day
  • Price: ££ - Mid-Range

EcoAir DC12 Compact

EcoAir Dehumidifier Reviews - Is this the Best Brand for Dehumidifiers? (5)

One of our favourite compactdehumidifiers is the EcoAir DC12. While there are lighter options available, its slim design and large water tank make it an excellent home dehumidifier.

As the name suggests, the DC12 has a maximum capacity of 12 litres per day. This makes it suitable for small homes or flats, but we wouldn't recommend it for houseswith more than three bedrooms.

The great thing about the DC12 is that, despite its compact design, it comes with a 3.5 litre water tank. This is significantly larger than many other dehumidifiers in its price range. If you want a machine that doesn't need to be emptied too often, the DC12 is a great choice.

Other features include "gliding" castor wheels, timer mode (two or four hours), continuous drainage option and automatic defrost. The DC12 also has an LED display, two fan speeds and a laundry mode for drying clothes faster.

While it's not the quietest model on the market, its noise output on lower settings is acceptable if you're in the same room. It's also not great at removing water from the air of cooler environments. We wouldn't recommend it for garages or conservatories.

In summary, the DC12 is an excellent dehumidifier with very few flaws. It's portable, great at removing water and has a large 3.5 litre capacity - all for a very reasonable price tag.

Pros

  • Great water extraction rate in warmer environments
  • Large water tank
  • Laundry mode

Cons

  • Loud on highest setting
  • Not as effective in lower temperature environments

Specification

  • Type: Refrigerant
  • Noise: 43dB
  • Tank:3.5 litres
  • Power:230W
  • Max Extraction: 12litres/day
  • Price: ££ - Mid-Range

EcoAir DD322 Classic

EcoAir Dehumidifier Reviews - Is this the Best Brand for Dehumidifiers? (6)

One of the more expensive EcoAir dehumidifiers is the DD322 classic. It's a desiccant model with a 10 litre capacity, large 3.5 litre water tank and a relatively lightweight design. The model has also been highly rated by buyers.

With a 10 litre capacity, the DD322 probably isn't powerful enough to be a whole home dehumidifier unless you have a maximum of 2-3 bedrooms. The good news is that it only weighs 8.5kg, so it's relatively easy to move between rooms when needed.

It's also fantastic at removing water from the air. As it's a desiccant model, it excels at room temperature or below. For drying out a few rooms at the same time, the DD322 Classic is an excellent option.

One thing we like about the DD322 is how easy it is to use. The control panel is self-explanatory and there are settings for maintaining humidity between 40-60%. Like most other EcoAir models, the automatic function is great for maintaining humidity at a certain level without wasting energy.

The biggest downside to the DD322 is that it isn't as quiet as other desiccant models. If you're looking for an EcoAir bedroom dehumidifier, there are quieter options available.

In summary, the DD322 is a great choice for drying multiple rooms - especially if the environment is often cooler than room temperature. While it doesn't have the capacity for large homes, the 3.5 litre tank means you won't need to empty it as often as other models.

Pros

  • Easy to use control panel with rotary switch for humidity
  • Excellent water extractionin cooler conditions
  • Large water tank

Cons

  • Loud for a desiccant dehumidifier

Specification

  • Type: Desiccant
  • Noise: 42dB
  • Tank:3.5 litres
  • Power:670W
  • Max Extraction: 10 litres/day
  • Price: £££ - Premium

EcoAir DC202 Hybrid

EcoAir Dehumidifier Reviews - Is this the Best Brand for Dehumidifiers? (7)

The EcoAir DC202 is one of our favourite models from this brand. It's a refrigerant dehumidifier with built-in purification system to remove odours, allergens and dust mites from the air. The DC202 also has a powerful 20 litre per day capacity and large water tank, so it's truly an all-round machine.

With a large capacity for removing water, the DC202 is a great option as a whole home dehumidifier. The four litre water tank is also one of the largest available on domestic dehumidifiers, so you won't need to empty it as often.

The air purification systemincludes five separate stages. These perform a variety of operations on the air, including a charcoal filter to remove odours and an anti-allergy device to prevent allergens spreading. An ioniser is also included.

Other features include three settings for humidity, a timer with four options (2-12 hours), laundry mode and a fragrance box. There are also two fan speeds and a built-in humidity sensor for automatic management.

It's not all positive though. The DC202 is one of the loudest EcoAir dehumidifiers, so you probably won't want to use it in bedrooms. It's also one of the more expensive EcoAir machines.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the EcoAir DC202 is an outstanding hybrid dehumidifier and air purifier. If you suffer from allergies, or just want fresher air in your home, it's a great choice that provides excellent value for money.

Pros

  • 5-stage air purification system to minimise allergens and odours
  • Fast extraction in warmer conditions
  • Large water tank

Cons

  • Premium price tag
  • Noisier than other EcoAir models on highest settings

Specification

  • Type: Refrigerant/Purifier
  • Noise: 45dB
  • Tank:4 litres
  • Power:318W
  • Max Extraction: 20 litres/day
  • Price: £££ - Premium

We've written a number of EcoAir dehumidifier reviews and rated most of the company's machines highly. But if we had to pick the best model, it would be theEcoAir DD122FW-MK5 Classic. It's an excellent desiccant dehumidifier with an efficient automatic mode and quiet operation. If you need a larger water tank, however, then one of the other options on this list might be a better choice.
